Dirty Little Secrets...

RESTAURANT REVIEW

LA CABRERA in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is the best steakhouse for the budget traveler or backpacker who wants a taste of the good life. Nestled in the ultra hip Palermo district, La Cabrera caters to those with an appetite for meat! This restaurant serves up every cut of beef imaginable, and it's prepared to your liking. In addition to their overly generous portions of steak, of which one order is plenty for two, La Cabrera adds thirteen little side dishes, ranging from applesauce to mashed spuds. If you dare save room for dessert, the chocolate lava cake will make you think that you have died and gone to heaven. For all this, expect to pay under $20 USD. That includes steak, fresh baked bread with homemade dipping sauces, side-dishes, dessert, and a small tip for the very attentive wait staff!

When arriving at the restaurant don’t be surprised to find a huge crowd of people waiting to be seated, no matter what time of night you show up. We went at 10:30 p.m. and still had to wait over an hour. Whatever the wait may be-- it’s well worth it. Especially because La Cabrera spoils their guests with free champagne while waiting to be seated. So be patient, get a buzz, and enjoy your meal!
