We would like to send our thoughts out to our friends and all others in Chile, during this difficult time. Around this time last year, Eric and I were in Chile. It is a truly amazing country with equally amazing people. During our time there we met many great locals and travelers alike. To our friends: Eileen, Javiera, Tiere, Victor, Rafael, and Leo. We hope you are all well, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hostel of the week…

MIRAFLORES HOUSE is a beautiful little house-turned hostel, located in the safest part of Lima, Peru. In addition to great security, the hostel has a friendly staff, clean rooms, and one of the best common areas out there. Couches, Internet, flat screen television, mp3 player, movies, guitars, keyboards, microphones, amps, surfboards, world maps, books, board games; it’s no wonder why the hostel motto is “feels like home.” The best amenity of all, however, is its owner, Francis. Later in life, Francis chose to leave his job and fulfill his dream of turning his house into a hostel so that he could help travelers with their journeys in Peru. “Help” is an understatement. On any given day, Francis can be seen for hours on end, sitting down with travelers, and personally booking their entire Peruvian trip, including Machu Picchu. As a result of Francis’ dedication to his country and to travelers, the Miraflores House is consistently rated as one of the world’s best hostels. Stay here and you will see why.
