FEATURED HOSTELS...

Welcome to Swiss Backpackers

At Swiss Backpackers hostels we offer you a home away from home. Each hostel is individually run with the owners often working at reception themselves. You receive a warm welcome and can enjoy both a budget and comfortable bed. In the self catering kitchens you will find a good atmosphere not only to cook and eat but also to get chatting to other travellers.
Swiss Backpackers are the quality hostels of Switzerland - as is ensured by the quality label for Swiss Tourism that each hostel has to reach within a year of joining the group.

All hostels fulfill minimum standards in order to ensure that you our guest really get your money worth and maybe that little bit more...

All this helps to provide that really good base for you to discover Switzerland. Thanks for coming and staying with us.

Hostel of the week…

Tangoinn Hostel Downtown. In the Lakes District of northern Patagonia, in the ski village of Bariloche, Argentina, this hostel offers four star hotel services at a hostel price. With views of the turquoise Nahuel Huapi Lake, a friendly staff, and an adorable resident Pit Bull, what more could you want? Free Shampoo and soft towels? Well, those are also provided in the large, hotel-style private rooms. A generous free breakfast includes scrambled eggs and cereal. Each guest can even book a private hour to use the indoor hot tub, which also has views of the beautiful lake. The staff will treat you like a VIP and even book your next accommodation at no charge. The facilities include, ample Internet access, WIFI in the rooms, guest kitchen, swimming pool, BBQ area, currency exchange, etc. People seem to argue over which Tangoinn location is better, but I can’t imagine beating this one. The hostel sits on a quiet hilltop street just off the main drag of town. The rooms are immaculate and make you feel like you’re staying in a classy hotel. Anything you want in a budget accommodation can be found here at The Tangoinn Downtown.

Three Reasons to Stay at Tangoinn Downtown:

1. The views. Stunning. Enjoy the scenery right from your bed.

2. The private hot tub. An incredible perk.

3. The generous breakfast will keep you full all morning.

Hostel of the week…

MIRAFLORES HOUSE is a beautiful little house-turned hostel, located in the safest part of Lima, Peru. In addition to great security, the hostel has a friendly staff, clean rooms, and one of the best common areas out there. Couches, Internet, flat screen television, mp3 player, movies, guitars, keyboards, microphones, amps, surfboards, world maps, books, board games; it’s no wonder why the hostel motto is “feels like home.” The best amenity of all, however, is its owner, Francis. Later in life, Francis chose to leave his job and fulfill his dream of turning his house into a hostel so that he could help travelers with their journeys in Peru. “Help” is an understatement. On any given day, Francis can be seen for hours on end, sitting down with travelers, and personally booking their entire Peruvian trip, including Machu Picchu. As a result of Francis’ dedication to his country and to travelers, the Miraflores House is consistently rated as one of the world’s best hostels. Stay here and you will see why.

THREE REASONS TO STAY AT THE MIRAFLORES HOUSE:

1. Francis. Enough said!

2. Complementary Pisco Sours (a traditional Peruvian alcoholic beverage).

3. Location. Right in the heart of Miraflores, the hostel is close to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment.
